A fair comparison of four ways to collect video messages from a group. Each one is good at something different. Prices checked on October 17, 2026.
The short version: choose Folksee if you want one link, short videos that play back in order, per-person pricing and nothing to edit. Choose Tribute or VidDay if you want to edit a montage with music, or have their team do it. Choose Kudoboard if you want a board of written messages, photos and GIFs, especially at work.
*Tribute and VidDay price by total minutes, so we assumed about one minute of video per person. Folksee prices are pack prices (10 for $10, 25 for $22, 50 for $40); on a new organizer's first reel, the 5 free credits can lower them. Kudoboard's $9.99 Premium board covers up to 100 posts, including video. Prices are from each company's own pricing page on October 17, 2026, and we re-check them every quarter. Best when you want people to answer a few good questions and have it play back as one reel, with nothing to edit. Pricing is per person, it plays full screen with Watch on a big screen, and the person it's for can send a thank-you back to everyone.
Best when you want a polished montage. You can edit it yourself with music and captions, or pay their Concierge team to do it, and add a printed video book.
Best when you want to design the video yourself, with themes, music, text cards and photos in a free editor, plus physical keepsakes.
Best for a board of written messages, photos and GIFs, especially at work, with workplace plans and team integrations.
For about 10 people, Folksee, VidDay and Kudoboard each cost about $10 to $15, and Tribute starts at $35. Folksee's first 5 credits are free, so a reel of 5 people costs nothing. Kudoboard's video boards are a flat $9.99 for up to 100 posts. Tribute and VidDay price by the total minutes collected, so longer or larger videos cost more.
Folksee. There's no editor, music or effects: each person answers the same questions, and every video plays back in order, question by question. Tribute and VidDay both include editors.
None of the four needs an app. Folksee contributors sign in once in their browser. Tribute, VidDay and Kudoboard let people record or post from a link.
Tribute and VidDay give you one HD video file. Folksee lets you save each video one at a time, and there isn't one combined download of the whole reel.
Your first 5 credits are free. No credit card. Ready in minutes.
